MURATAGIRL-unicycle-riding robot
Murata has developed a unicycle-riding robot modeled on the image of a kindergarten girl- MurataGirl ('09 model). tanding on its lone wheel, the robot can remain stationary, go back and forth and move along a curve by using built-in gyro sensors. She can ride at 15cm/sec-three times faster than 2008 model.

Skin Jobs in the Office
At my job, one of my co-workers was an android…I guess “android” is really an outdated word. Showing my age I guess. Cyborg sounds too sinister, though. Robot sounds too metallic. The point is it was not human. The strange part was everyone knew it wasn’t human but it had integrated so completely into the office that no one, including myself, took much note of it.

Fashion robot to hit Japan catwalk
According to a post on the Physorg website we'll soon see fashion robots strutting their stuff up and down fashion catwalks.
The robot will make an appearance at a Tokyo fashion show. Costing around $200,000 would make them cheaper than fashion models but will they have the same kind of sex appeal? Somehow I don't think so.

The 'Look A Like' dolls were displayed by LittleIsland president Hiroaki Koike at the annual Gift Show in Tokyo.
Bunraku puppet robots resurrected (pics/video)
A trio of old-school bunraku puppet robots revived nearly 40 years after they were unveiled at the 1970 World Expo in Osaka are temporarily on display at the National Science Museum in Tokyo. Modeled after classic bunraku puppets, each pre-programmed robot is driven by around 20 pneumatic cylinders that move the arms, torso, head and face in sync with accompanying audio.

Floor-cleaning robot can ride the elevator, leave early
A robot has been developed and employed by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd and Sumitomo Corporation to clean their floors. It has laser sensors for detecting and avoiding obstacles, and light transmission devices which allow it to communicate with elevators (also modified), so that it can travel between floors on its own. The robot can be equipped with cameras that record its entire shift.
