Fuji Soft Inc.’s new humanoid robot platform for hobbyists and researchers has been given the name PALRO. According to its makers, the name PALRO (JP) is a combination of the words PAL (friend) and RObot. The robot combines Fuji Soft’s software with an open architecture, giving the developers a plenty of room to experiment.

Japanese technology is known for developing and creating some of the most useful inventions seen by science. That said, even the most bizzarre ones come from the same part of Eastern Asis. The world has seen a lof of robots. The destroyer of the 80s and the 90s has now taken a softer shape like the Robo-girl to walk the fashion ramp or like the clone that one would always dream of having.

ROPID is a little toy robot that can run, talk, jump, stand up, sit down, and listen to voice commands. It puts those darn robot dogs to shame.

Mamoru is a pint-sized elder-care robot created by the University of Tokyo that even looks like a diminutive granny, what with that cute little plastic bun. It's not designed to nag, however. Instead, it helps the elderly or disabled remember where they left their remote control or their slippers

We know Toyota as being the number one car maker here in America. However, what we will never see here in America by the company is so much cooler than just cars. In 2005, Toyota developed the i-Foot robot that offers the “pilot” three-dimensional mobility.

Engineers at the University of Kitakyushu have developed an underwater robot in the form of a sea bream (red snapper) with a silicone body covered in realistically hand-painted scales. “Tai-robot-kun” features a unique propulsion system that allows it to move its tail and drift silently through the water like a real fish.
