Murata has developed a unicycle-riding robot modeled on the image of a kindergarten girl- MurataGirl ('09 model). tanding on its lone wheel, the robot can remain stationary, go back and forth and move along a curve by using built-in gyro sensors. She can ride at 15cm/sec-three times faster than 2008 model.

Bicycle use grows in popularity amid recession

It appears in the cash strapped economy, there are winners too! Bicycle shops are reporting increased sales as commuters get out of their cars, or in place of public transport, to achieve savings and increase health in doing so.


Most Japanese companies pay for the monthly transport costs of its workers. Can it still be claimed if cycling instead? I don't know?
