For more than 60 years, an old flag from a Japanese soldier who fought in World War II lay hidden in a closet. When Aaron Sponseller moved to Hiroshima to teach English through the JET Programme, his grandfather gave him the flag in hopes he could find the family to whom it belonged. It was the beginning of a journey that eventually led him to a small town in Niigata prefecture.
