Bangkok's international Suwarnabhumi Airport remains closed for the third day stranding 1000's of passengers and causing a major travel disruption for 1000's of others. The autumn and winter period is when many foreigners normally visit Thailand. Protesters took over the Bangkok airport on Tuesday evening.
Thailand's capital's old Don Muang airport is also closed.
Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat rejected protesters demands to resign.
Thailand's powerful army commander, who had remained neutral in the conflict, stepped into the fray yesterday, urging Somchai to step down. He also asked thousands of protesters to end their siege of the main international Suwarnabhumi Airport.
