Princess Aiko, the 8-year-old only child of Crown Prince Naruhito, heir to Japan's Chrysanthemum Throne, has been kept out of her elite elementary school since Tuesday over her fears of boys who "treated her harshly," the country's Daily Mainichi newspaper reported.

When it came time for our half (double?) kids to start school long ago, Mrs. JP was beside herself, worried that they would be subjected to all kinds of bullying. I was of the opinion (and experience) that bullies will always find a reason to bully; be it the purity of you blood, the eyeglasses you wear, how much you weight, the size of your nose, ad infinitum.
Now that we find that even the purest of the pure blooded is not spared the torments of bullying, I rest my case.
Basel - not a problem for our crew - 0samu (Pip G.) & Tsutomu - nite flight to Geneve
"I just moved to Basel and was wondering if there are any shops specializing in Korean or Japanese ingredients. I'm looking for the basics: Korean/Japanese soy sauce, sesame oil, miso, and shiso leaves, and Korean kimchee (pref. not canned). I've found 1 or 2 products at various Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese shops so far but need more"

Ethnic Koreans often get bullied in Japanese schools. What's so unusual about this?
the floor is yours - you tell us
(Arden commented)- it wouldn't be because the Japanese are so...xenophobic (like the Swiss) and believe that their culture is bomb/bullet proof..

The Japanese media don't find it as a problem of bullying because of Aiko's family background. There are always bad boys regardless of what, and the media consider that the respect for the royal family isn't as high as it used to be. Especially, those parents of Aiko's classmates who are 40s or younger are not likely to have told their kids to be very polite to Aiko. And the media all say it's surprising and "very rare" that the royal family announced this kind of thing.
Even if that was a bullying it's definitely not because of her blood. Kids have no idea royal family has pure blood or not, and they only know princess Aiko is treated differently. And the blood of royal family isn't necessarily considered pure in Japan as they have had marriages with Korean royal family in the past.
