Less than 48 hours after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake rocked much of Japan, a 6.4 magnitude quake did the same. The second one was centered significantly north of the first. Throw in a typhoon, and nature is certainly making herself felt these days.

Magnitude 7.1 Earthquake Strikes Japan Coast
A strong earthquake struck off the south coast of Japan on Sunday night local time, "jolting Tokyo and wide areas of eastern Japan," the country's Kyodo news agency reported. The 7.1 earthquake hit 200 miles (320 kilometers) south-southwest of Tokyo at 7:55 p.m. (6:55 a.m. ET), the United States Geological Survey reported. Its epicenter was 188 miles (303 kilometers) deep, the USGS said.

Anniversary of the Sanriku Earthquake - 0230 AM on March 2, 1933
The epicenter of the 1933 Sanriku earthquake was located offshore, 290 kilometres (180 mi) east of the city of Kamaishi, Iwate. The initial shock occurred on at 0230 AM on March 2, 1933. The earthquake measured 8.4 on the moment magnitude scale [1] and was in approximately the same location as the 1896 Sanriku earthquake.

Japan's disaster prevention panel says hundreds of thousands of people will be unable to find a toilet if a major earthquake hits Tokyo on a weekday.
The report said 810,000 people will be desperately looking for a toilet within hours of the quake, even if half of the public facilities remained intact. Some might have to wait for 17 hours before finding a toilet.
